Hotel's Breakfast

The breakfast of Litohoro Olympus Resort Villas & Spa is mostly based on local products from the area of Litohoro in Pieria. Different types of bread are prepared every morning (baguettes, loaves, village style, buns and many other types). The breakfast buffet includes traditional pies (cheese pies, spinach pies, milk pies, pies with leeks, eggplant pies etc). Both the "fillo" dough and the filling for the pies is hand made according to traditional recipes of Litohoro. Other types of pies are also made daily such as "kourou", soft "peinirly", mini sausage pies, mini chocolate pies, "flogeres" and mini puff pastry pies. Guests will often find "tiganites" and "bougatsa" made with pure ingredients. There are also fruit of the season. The breakfast buffet includes on a daily basis 2-3 vegetable dishes that vary every day ("batsina" of Litohoro, fried potatoes or potatoes with crème fraiche, tomato with "anthotyro" cheese, tomato with bacon and parmesan cheese, sautéed zucchini, sautéed fresh beans etc). There are also savory or sweet French toasts, various kinds of omelets and organic eggs from local producers cooked in different ways (boiled, fried, poached, scrambled and "strapatsada"). Guests will find among the hot dishes Litohoro village style sausages and sausages with bacon. During the winter months there are often soups such as 'trahanas", chickpeas, chicken soup etc.
The Litohoro Olympus Resort breakfast buffet also includes cheese and cured meat platters, with emphasis on the local products of the Prefecture, fresh yoghurt of the region, "ryzogalo" (rice pudding) and a selection of creams with fresh milk supplied by local producers. There are also platters with dried fruit, fresh juices, fresh milk, water from Olympus etc.
As for sweets, the breakfast buffet of Litohoro Olympus Resort features fresh hand made marmalades and flower honey from Olympus. Guests should try the various kinds of cakes (vanilla, chocolate, with dried nuts etc) made with pure local ingredients as well as the apple pies ("covered" apple pie, apple pie with cream, 'open" apple pie) , the "pasta flora" tart, the "ravani" and "kormos" cakes, the cheese cake, the lemon pie, the cookies and the fresh "loukoumades" (honey puffs). All these delicacies are made with passion and care using fresh, local ingredients.
