Breakfast at the Pearl Beach hotel consists of a great variety of Greek, especially Cretan products.
Guests will find a variety of barley buns, barley bites, oil buns and sweet rusks from the traditional local bakery, beverages like “malotyra” and “diktamo”, a selection of fruits and fresh orange juice from oranges of Chania. There are also olives, olive oil, handmade jams, plums and dried figs and raisins from Crete. Guests may try handmade jams and dried fruits. Specials include the “ryzogalo” or “galoryzo” (rice pudding), the vanilla cream, the “manouri” cheese and “tiganites” (pancakes with honey).

Guests will also find Cretan gruyere and other cheeses, “strapatsada” (scrambled eggs with tomatoes), various omelettes, Greek cold cuts and cheeses, olives, local yoghurt and halva, as well as various jams. As for pies, there is apple pie and other kinds that alternate daily, like cheese pie, spinach pie, pie with wild greens and milk pie. Guests will accompany their breakfast with Greek coffee, tea or even fresh orange juice.

Breakfast at the Sensimar Kalliston Resort & Spa serves many Greek dishes in the cold or hot buffet. The hotel has created a special corner where Greek delicacies -and particularly local Cretan products- are shown. The “Cretan Corner” includes barley rusks with oil and tomato, olives, local cheeses (gruyere, dry “anthotyro,”) traditional sweet delicacies (pies with “myzithra” cheese or “lychnarakia”), and “kaltsounia” with fennel. Among the guests’ choices are also jams, Greek yoghurt, sweet “myzithra” and “ksinomyzithra” cheese, “kserotigana” (fritters), spoon sweets, oil rusks, whole wheat breadsticks with sunflower seeds and sesame.

The breakfast buffet at the Atlantica Imperial Resort and Residence features many “Greek corners” with local delicacies and fresh ingredients. Guests may try Greek honey, yoghurt, traditional Rhodian bread, oil bread and rusks. The egg-based dishes include “strapatsada” (scrambled eggs with cheese and tomato) and poached eggs on tomato and zucchini. As for beverages, there is an assortment of herbal teas and infusions like Greek tea, “diktamo”, verbena, “fliskouni”, chamomile and mountain tea, “melissochorto”, mint and hibiscus.

The breakfast at the Semiramis is served a la carte and it is inviting and imaginative. Among the various delicacies served, there is a vast selection of Greek dishes made with fresh local ingredients.

The kitchen team starts preparations very early in the morning, getting ready to welcome guests and offer them a 4 star village style breakfast. The hotel garden is the main product supplier, hence breakfast ingredients are pure and fresh.

There are also free range eggs (boiled, fried, omelet) that guests can enjoy with freshly cut tomatoes and cucumber from the neighborhood greengrocer who also supplies the fresh fruit. There is freshly squeezed orange juice, cakes, various cookies. The aroma of coffee and various herbal teas, such as mountain tea, chamomile, mint, sage and linden make the guests feel closer to nature. Beverages are paired with walnut spoon sweet, a hotel specialty.

The Greek Breakfast buffet at the Alkyonis offers a variety of traditional Greek products of excellent quality. There are many bread varieties, seasonal fruits, vegetable salads, olives and traditional classic yoghurt. Also served is feta cheese from Macedonia and eggs from the neighboring village, cooked in various styles. Guests should try the traditional pies such as “bougatsa” with cream or cheese, spinach and cheese pie, mini pies with sausage, “kasseri” cheese or ham, cream, spinach, zucchini, and many other fillings. There is also organic honey from a local producer, tahini spread, traditional local spoon sweets paired with yoghurt. House specialties include semolina pudding (halva), “trahana” (pebble-sized pasta) soup or vegetable soup, as well as the excellent traditional couscous. There is an assortment of teas, hot milk from Macedonia and Greek coffee traditionally brewed.

The breakfast buffet puts emphasis on Greek and Cretan local products. The buffet offers freshly baked breads, cookies, biscuits and other bakery items. Guests may taste fresh fruits and authentic strained yoghurt with spoon sweets or jam. A popular corner of the buffet is the one with dried fruits and nuts, cereals, muesli and fresh milk. There is also coffee and tea for guests, who can enjoy freshly squeezed oranges from Chania. Hot dishes feature boiled and fried eggs, omelettes, “strapatsada” (scrambled eggs with tomato), vegetables with olive oil and herbs etc.

There is also a selection of cheeses, cold cuts, feta cheese and olives. Highly recommended is the dessert of the day which can be cake (with orange, yoghurt, or lemon), walnut pie, chocolate cake, semolina (pudding) halva etc.

The Greek breakfast at the CHC Seaside Resort & Spa offers dishes with local ingredients, based on traditional recipes. The tour to the Greek – Cretan breakfast starts with the unique Greek bananas of Arvi, water melons and local grapes. Guests have a choice of cheeses, such as “myzithra”, “kefalograviera” and “”anthotyro”. The local “sfouggato” omelet with zucchinis is a recommended specialty, baked in a traditional oven. As for dessert, guests may choose among local sweets such as “lychnarakia”, “kaltsounia”, “diples” and pies of Sfakia.
