A typical “Mani’s Breakfast”, is based on local culinary options, including fresh ingredients carefully selected from the local markets. Beverages feature sage and “melissohorto” (local mint variety) from Mani, local tea variety from Taygetos Mountain, Greek coffee and fresh locally-selected orange and/or grapefruit juice. Traditional bread from the bakery, rusks, oil and sesame cookies and apple pies are served every day. Visitors should try local thyme honey, tahini (sesame seeds spread), homemade jams, traditional yoghurt, “sfela” or local feta cheese. There is also Mani’s sausage with orange or syglino (smoked pork meat boiled in cinnamon and orange), homemade traditional pies, flute-shaped pies with various ingredients, “travichtes” (beignet/pulled fried dough), traditional Mani’s galatopita (milk pie) or portokalopita (orange pie), loukoumades (fried dumplings topped with honey) and Mani’s halva (tahini based sweet). Local recommend the traditional “riganada” or “dakos” (rusks with oregano, capers and local olives), fresh free-range eggs from Mani made to order, including “strapatsada” (scrambled eggs with tomatoes) and delicious fresh fruit salad with a variety of seasonal fruits.

The breakfast buffet at the Matilda hotel includes a wide selection of traditional delicacies such as “dakos” rusk with feta cheese, olive oil and oregano. There are three types of traditional homemade jams, honey from Zakynthos and handmade cake. Guests will also find a selection of tea, coffees, hot and cold milk, yoghurt, “kasseri” cheese, cold cuts and butter. The sliced tomatoes, zucchini and onions are worth trying. Olives, omelettes, mushrooms and sausage, as well as traditional pies, such as cheese pie, pie with ham and cheese, and milk pie, are also offered. There is melon and water melon, sweet “ryzogalo” (rice pudding), walnut pie and traditional “galaktoboureko” for the perfect ending to a real Greek breakfast.

The breakfast buffet includes a wide selection of traditional delicacies such as homemade bread from the kitchen of Marpessa, various kinds of handmade cakes and jams, honey by local producers and handmade spoon sweets. Fresh fruits of the season are also served. Dairy products include gruyere from Amphilochia, feta, butter and yoghurt. Guests may try the eggs cooked in various ways (boiled, omelet, stuffed omelet upon request). There are also many types of handmade biscuits, pasta flora jam tart, spinach tart and cheese tart, “ravani” (syrupy semolina cake), “samali” (with orange and semolina), apple pie, “ryzogalo” (rice pudding), baked pies (chicken pie, cheese pie, pie with wild greens, mini apple pies) with handmade phyllo, traditional halva, and pancakes with cheese or fruits. Dried fruits, cucumbers and tomatoes as well as olives from local producers are also offered. Beverages include milk, fruit juices, coffee and tea.

The Greek breakfast buffet at the “Marousio” guesthouse features many local dishes, namely traditional pies such as flour pie, milk pie, zucchini pie, cabbage pie, pie with pasta, “batsara” and cheese pie. There is also “trahanas” soup with traditional pasta, various breads, eggs, butter, cheeses, cold cuts, olives, organic tomatoes from the garden and seasonal fruits.
For dessert there is apple pie and lemon pie, cakes, cookies, halva, “tiganites” (pancakes) with tsipouro and honey. Beverages include tea from Ksirovouni and Greek coffee paired with loukoumi (Turkish delight) from Ioannina.

The Greek breakfast buffet at Marmari Palace includes several kinds of handmade breads, cookies and cakes, fresh fruits and vegetables. There are also dried fruits, smoked mackerel, honey and spoon sweets. Greek jams, various cold cuts and cheeses such as “anthotyro”, “kalathaki”,”feta” and the famous “posia” cheese are also available. Eggs dishes include the traditional “strapatsada” (scrambled egg and tomato). Traditional pies such as cheese pie, spinach pie, sausage pie and “bougatsa” (with phyllo dough and cream) are offered daily. Ideal dessert options, the “pasta flora” jam tarts and “ryzogalo” (rice pudding) are made on the premises.

Breakfast is served at the hotel balcony or in guests’ rooms with views of the traditional village of Messaria. The products used in breakfast are mostly local. The a la carte breakfast menu includes beverages like mountain tea and chamomile, Greek yoghurt with fruits or dried nuts, handmade traditional pies, and a variety of Greek cold cuts and cheeses. Specialty dishes offered are Santorini fava beans, “kagiana” omelet with sausages from Santorini, “sfouggato” omelet with fresh potatoes and “dakos” rusks with manouri cheese and capers. Desserts feature “loukoumades” (dumplings with honey and cinnamon), semolina pudding (halva) as well as a wide selection of traditional spoon sweets and biscuits.

Breakfast at the Maritina Hotel includes many products from local and Greek producers. The hotel serves hot, freshly baked bread rolls based on a local recipe. The local traditional cheese, “posa”, red “krasotyri”, traditional “anthotyro” cheese, “feta”, are among the cheese selections. The breakfast buffet at the Marino Beach Hotel serves a wide selection of traditional delicacies. There is orange juice, coffee and tea, milk, bread, cakes and “pasta flora” jam tart. Guests will find boiled and fried eggs, sliced ham and cheese, salad (tomato and cucumber), yoghurt, honey, two kinds of jams and dried fruits. Hot dishes include village style omelet and vegetable “papoutsaki” (tomato, pepper, with grated feta cheese, oil, oregano, pepper). The Greek corner serves mountain tea and other herbal beverages (“malotira”), and offers “strapatsada” (scrambled eggs and tomato), local products like feta cheese, olives, extra virgin olive oil, “koukouvayia” or “dakos” (barley rusk with grated tomato, feta, oil and oregano) and orange cookies with sesame. The breakfast buffet features sweet treats like “ryzogalo” (rice pudding), tahini halva, cream-filled “galaktoboureko” “boureki” and “loukoumades” (honey dumplings.) The savoury selection serves onion and spinach pie.

Guests may start with four different types of fresh bread, traditional Cretan rusks, local eggs – boiled, fried or omelet- as well as “anthotyro” cheese. The cold cuts, cheeses and olives are supplied from local producers. Fresh and dried fruits, vegetables and various compotes are also offered. The hotel bakes its own pies, and several kinds of cakes and biscuits, all paired with four kinds of jams. Guests may also enjoy spoon sweets, plain or with Greek yoghurt. Finally, beverages served include coffee, milk, tea, cocoa and various fruit juices.

There are also cold cuts and Greek cheeses such as feta, “anthotyro” and traditional “manouri”, olives (black and green) and vegetables.

Breakfast at the Mantinia Bay showcases the products of Messinia. It starts with fresh bread, homemade jams and cakes, fresh juice, coffee, local delicacies and cheeses like feta and gruyere. There is traditional “lalaggia” from Mani, village eggs cooked in various ways, tomato, olives, butter, honey from Taygetos and fresh yoghurt. Guests should also try the wonderful dried figs of the region and fruits from Messinia.
