The High Beach Hotel offers a wide selection of traditional dishes among its breakfast choices. The bread corner features many kinds of fresh bread and there are also fruits and fruit salad, as well as fresh vegetables from the hotel garden. Eggs are cooked in many ways and the omelettes are made to order, alongside cold cuts, grilled village style sausages, baked potatoes and steamed vegetables. There is Cretan “dakos” rusk with “manouri” cheese, “ksynohondro” soup (traditional pasta), a selection of olives and olive oil. The hotel pastry chef bakes cheese pie, “bougatsa” (custard pie), apple pie, chocolate pie, cakes, and “tsoureki” (sweet bread). Guests should also try the “ryzogalo” (rice pudding), various jams, spoon sweets, honey and other delicacies. Greek coffee is brewed the traditional way. Alternatively, guests may try a special herbal tea made with a mixture of Cretan herbs.

The Greek breakfast at the Happy Days Beach Hotel serves a wide selection of breads (wheat, multi grain, rye) and bread rolls, rusks and bread sticks. The Grecotel Creta Palace offers a healthy, delicious traditional Cretan breakfast table. Rusks, buns, honey and traditional jams, olive oil, traditional pies, gruyere and “myzithra” cheese, “kserotigana” (fritters), local sweets, herbal teas and other delicacies are showcased at breakfast.
The raw materials are from local suppliers, from every corner of Crete, and they are carefully selected to offer the most pure and fresh products. A large number of these products come from the Agreco farm that belongs to the Daskalantonakis Group (Grecotel owners). The organic products – olive oil, raki, wine, raisins, jams, spoon sweets – are in accordance to the highest European specifications, proving that it is possible to avoid chemicals that pollute the soil, the water and our health. Desserts include
“ksirotigana” (fritters with honey), semolina pudding (halva), spoon sweets, and biscuits. Hot “loukoumades” (honey dumplings), “ryzogalo” (rice pudding) “diples” (traditional honey fritters) are accompanied by “vyssinada” (sour cherry drink) and herbal beverages, such as “diktamo” and “malotyra” (mountain tea). Vegetarians may opt for fresh and dried fruits, fresh juices, fruit salads and local vegetables.

Breakfast at the Georgia hotel is prepared with great care, putting emphasis on local products. Breakfast at Katrin Suites is buffet style. The special corner with Greek delicacies offers Greek coffee, tea and Cretan herbal beverages. There is a selection of Cretan cheeses such as feta, “kefalotyri” etc, local olives and vegetables, sweet “kalitsounia”, cheese pie, village style sausage, spinach pies, and cream-filled “bougatsa” pie. Other delicacies featured are Cretan honey, traditional yoghurt, fresh fruits, Cretan rusks (“dakos”) and various omelettes.

As for hot beverages, the Cretan herbal teas take center stage (“diktamo”, “malotira”, sage, chamomile). “Kanelada” (with cinnamon) is served as a refreshment. There is also tea and various coffees.
