The Aithrio is a 17th century mansion in Zagori, which has been restored with respect to its traditional architecture. Its five rooms are minimally and stylishly appointed with designer furniture and also boast energy-efficient fireplaces, whirlpool baths and other exclusive amenities.
The guesthouse serves Greek breakfast with local ingredients. The kitchen prepares daily its own bread and a variety of cakes. There is also fresh cow’s butter, fresh milk and fresh yoghurt, village honey, cheese from Epirus, local eggs, handmade jams from local fruits and “trahanas” (traditional pasta) soup for the cold days. There is a selection of pies with sweet and savoury ingredients (wild greens pie, cheese pie, flour pie, milk pie and the traditional “ryzogalo” (rice pudding) There are herbal teas from the mountains (tea, sage, mint, “melissochorto”).
