The rich breakfast buffet puts emphasis on Cretan products, Cretan recipes and the Greek diet in general. The buffet includes bread products with Cretan rusks and buns, a wide selection of traditional mini pies such as pies with fennel, pies with “myzithra” cheese and “kaltsounia”. The local cheeses such as “myzithra” and “anthotyros” are paired with Cretan sausages and “apaki” smoked pork. There are also dried fruits, Cretan thyme honey, tahini, carob honey, spoon sweets, and handmade lemon jams. Hot dishes include “ryzogalo” (rice pudding), trahanas and yoghurt soup, Greek bean soup, eggs with tomato and “staka”, “strapatsada” (scrambled eggs with Cretan “apaki”), “loukoumades” (honey dumplings) and many other delicacies. All recipes are made with virgin olive oil that is produced and packaged locally. Guests may accompany their meal with a traditionally brewed Greek coffee, hot tea, or herbal infusions like the traditional “sarantadendri”.
