A wide selection of Greed traditional delicacies is served at the breakfast buffet including a wide variety of breads and bakery products, such as barley rusks, rye “dakos” rusks, carob rusks and “ouzo” bites. Guests will also find jams as well as thyme honey. There is also halva, tahini, traditional sheep’s yoghurt, and spoon sweets. Hot desserts include mini pies filled with “myzithra” cheese, “loukoumades” (honey dumplings), “bougatsa” (pie with cream) and “”ryzogalo”” (rice pudding) as well as local sweets like “kalitsounia”, “lychnarakia”, “kserotigana” (fritters), “diples” and biscuits. As for cheese there is Cretan gruyere, “myzithra”, “feta” and “manouri” and the cold cuts selection features traditional smoked “apaki” pork, village style sausage, sausages from Mykonos. Guests may also have local eggs, “strapatsada” (scrambled eggs and tomato), fresh vegetables, a variety of olives, and extra virgin Cretan olive oil. Herbal teas include “malotira”, “diktamo”, linden,”fliskouni””, “sarantadendri” and sage. The breakfast is complete with dried fruits, freshly cut fruit salad, and orange juice.
