The rich Greek breakfast buffet features mostly local Cretan products. Guests may start with bread and selected bakery products and local delicacies such as Cretan gruyere, “myzithra” cheese, “anthotyro” cheese, “pichtogalo” of Chania, local rusks and biscuits and “kavroumas” biscuit. Specialties include “ksirotigana” (fritters), “kaltsounia” and “lychnarakia”. There is also pie of Sfakia, “dakos” rusk, “apaki” (smoked pork), “ksinochondros” (traditional pasta), local Cretan olive oil, thyme honey from Lefka Ori mountains, olives, “ryzogalo” (rice pudding). Beverages include Cretan herbal tea, fresh orange juice, sour cherry juice, paired with walnuts, peanuts and other nutritious products.
