The Montanema Handmade Village is located at Anthohori in Karditsa. It is a truly ecological village, which uses the best ingredients and local products. Wild greens, herbs and fruits are handpicked and cooked by the local cook according to the traditional recipes of Agrafa for an indescribable gastronomic experience. Special activities for guests are organized according to the season.
The Montanema serves handmade bread made with flour from wheat that is ground in the nearby old water mill and baked in a wood-burning oven. Fresh village eggs are cooked in various styles. Guests will enjoy fresh, handmade butter, “kasseri” and “kefalograviera” cheeses from Mouzaki and feta cheese traditionally made. The cold cuts are provided by a local charcuterie. There are local jams, honey from the region of Agrafa, “tahini” (sesame paste). Guests should try “kolybari trahanas” (local pasta) in winter, pies such as the local “batzina” pie with zucchini, the local “plastos” pie and pie with greens. Sweet pumpkin pie and milk pie, oats biscuits, homemade cakes and biscuits stand out in the sweets section. There are also fresh fruits, yoghurt from a local farm and dried fruits and nuts. complete the breakfast buffet.
