The Oreste’s House” is located in one of the oldest villages of Zagori, Ano Pedina. This old manor house was turned into a guesthouse, preserving the architectural style of the region. It consists of two separate buildings and has seven rooms and fifteen beds. Two of the rooms are suites and five have a fireplace. The guesthouse has a restaurant, a caf? and operates a grocery store with excellent local products.
The Oreste’s House’s Greek breakfast features a wide selection of traditional delicacies such as herbal teas (mountain tea, verbena, tisane and chamomile), fresh milk from Epirus and seasonal fruits. Guests may also try yoghurt from Zagori, cheeses and cold cuts from Epirus, “trahana” (traditional Greek pasta), eggs from the village, “tiganites” (pancakes) and “ryzogalo” (rice pudding). The famous pies include yoghurt pie, flour pie, “batsaria” pie with corn flour, and there is also homemade bread with yeast, homemade jams, honey from Zagori and fresh butter of the region.
