The Greek Breakfast

The “Greek Breakfast” program, launched by the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, aims to connect Greece’s rich gastronomic heritage with the hotel guest experience. Designed to highlight local specialties and quality products, Greek Breakfast offers visitors an authentic taste of regional Greek flavors.
Certified by the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels, Greek Breakfast is a unique, innovative program linking local producers with hoteliers. It serves as a foundation to showcase the culinary identity of Greek destinations, which is the guardian of the country’s cultural heritage.

A Competitive Edge for Greek Tourism
Greek Breakfast has become a major asset for Greek tourism, setting it apart in an increasingly competitive global market. By creating value and promoting sustainable development, the program fosters collaboration at both local and national levels. It expands Greece’s tourism appeal internationally and provides hotels with growth opportunities by highlighting authentic Greek experiences.

Quality Assured Through Structured Certification
The Greek Breakfast program follows specific guidelines, ensuring quality and authenticity in participating hotels. Adherence to these standards ensures a consistent, high-quality experience for guests, inviting them on a unique culinary journey. The certification by the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels holds both producers and hoteliers to high standards, guaranteeing quality as a top priority.

Uniting Greek Tourism under One Program
The Greek Breakfast program unifies Greek tourism stakeholders, promoting a consistent message that introduces Greece’s culinary heritage to the world.

The Essence of Greek Cuisine
Greek Breakfast highlights many of Greece’s signature Mediterranean products: fresh bread, rusks, olive oil, olives, yogurt, honey, and seasonal fruit. Each Greek region, shaped by its climate, soil, and cultural exchanges, has its own distinct gastronomic tradition. Guests are invited to explore and enjoy these regional breakfast specialties, gaining insight into Greece’s diverse culinary landscape.

Benefits for Program Members
The Greek Breakfast program offers distinct advantages for all participants:

  • For Hoteliers: New collaboration and communication opportunities with travelers interested in cultural and culinary experiences help hoteliers stand out. The Chamber’s certification supports them in attracting agents focused on gastronomy-focused tourism.
  • For Local Producers: The program provides an excellent platform to promote premium products, build brand recognition, and inform the public. Many guests look to buy local products after tasting them at breakfast.
  • For Hotel Guests: Visitors can immerse themselves in the local culinary and cultural heritage by tasting and, in some cases, purchasing regional products, deepening their appreciation of local traditions.
