Archontiko Sakali
The renovated Archondiko Sakali is a luxury guesthouse in Pelion which combines tradition, elegance and modern comforts. The rooms of the18th century building have been named after the satellites of Jupiter and promise guests a luxury stay. Breakfast features many traditional Greek recipes prepared with fresh local ingredients.
Guests may choose among a variety of breads and homemade jams, honey from local producers, natural orange juice, Greek cheeses such as “kasseri”, “ladotyri”, “anthotyro”, “myzithra”, fresh fruits or homemade compote, handmade cookies, eggs, top quality cold cuts and handmade yoghurt. The fresh pies are made with homemade phyllo and pure ingredients such as wild greens, Greek cheeses, zucchinis, peppers, leeks or sweet pumpkin with honey and raisins.
In the winter, guests may start with traditional herbal beverages like mountain tea, sage, linden (all picked from the Pelion mountain) and enjoy handmade “trahanas” soup (traditional pasta), dried fruits and nuts, apple pie with walnuts, cream-filled “bougatsa” pie, cake with plums, “pasta flora” jam tart “tiganites” (pancakes), “loukoumades” (honey dumplings), cream and “ryzogalo” (rice pudding). In the summer the options are more refreshing and include “dakos” (Cretan rusks, “ksynomyzithra” cheese and fresh oregano, tomato, olives), “strapatsada” (scrambled eggs and tomato), sponge cake, cake with peaches and many others.
