Breakfast is prepared with local ingredients and influenced by the local cuisine, which reflects the Mediterranean Diet. Dairies include fresh milk, yoghurt, butter and local cheeses (“sfela” and “talagani”), paired with honey of Taygetos and thyme honey of Kythira. The pies (with wild greens, cheese, vegetable etc.) are very popular with guests. The many types of fresh bread, biscuits and various bakery products will complement breakfast. Guests should make sure to taste the famous “lalaggia” of Mani, plain or with honey, the well-known Kalamata olives and famous olive oil.
Greek cold cuts, fresh eggs cooked in a variety of ways, handmade “hortokeftedes” (veggie balls), sun dried and fresh vegetables as well as fresh fruits, are also available. The selection of sweets includes the honey and nuts “pasteli” bar, the “ryzogalo” (rice pudding), fresh biscuits and sweet pies. All these may be accompanied by Greek traditional coffee.
