The Ilaeira Mountain resort is located in the Toriza village, 15km from Sparta. It is set on a verdant slope, at an altitude of 850m and offers sweeping views of the Laconian plain. It features four suites, nine private residences and three villas. Facilities include hydro massage, sauna and a gym. The resort also features sixteen rooms, a restaurant, a cafeteria and a hall for congresses and functions. Guests may relax by the fireplace, enjoy the view or take part in various activities, like trekking and cycling.
The traditional buffet breakfast is based on fresh ingredients. Guests will find homemade jams, “tiganopsoma” (fritters) with organic honey, “loukoumades” (honey dumplings) with cinnamon, cheese pie, olives and olive oil, mountain tea from Taygetos and eggs from a local supplier. Desserts include cream-filled “bougatsa” pie, “melomakarona” and “kourabiedes” (traditional Christmas sweets), spoon sweets made with traditional recipes, fresh juice, “lalaggia” (local sweet), “ryzogalo” (rice pudding), semolina pudding (halva), orange cookies and many other delicacies.
