Breakfast at the Maritina Hotel includes many products from local and Greek producers. The hotel serves hot, freshly baked bread rolls based on a local recipe. The local traditional cheese, “posa”, red “krasotyri”, traditional “anthotyro” cheese, “feta”, are among the cheese selections. Bread is paired with honey from local producers and traditional “tomataki” (small tomato) spoon sweet. Many fresh fruits are also served, as well as olives from Kos marinated in sesame, orange and extra virgin olive oil. There is also “ryzogalo” (rice pudding) made with Greek milk, Greek yoghurt and “mageria” (traditional local sweet). Other delicacies served regularly are the traditional “varvara” (a mixture of seeds, dried nuts and fruits sprinkled with cinnamon) as well as “krasotyri” cheese “saganaki” (shallow fried) with cherry tomato jam.
