The Pilot Beach Resort is situated on the northwestern coast of Crete, in a beautiful setting surrounded by villages that still maintain the traditional Cretan element. It is situated on the 7km long sandy beach of Georgioupolois, designed to offer its guests immediate access to the beach or one of its pools. The guests can choose among tastefully decorated bungalows and suites as well as luxury suites with private pool. Other features include excellent restaurants and a health club.
The Greek breakfast buffet serves various breads, traditional loafs or with carob and corn, bread sticks and rusks, paired with Cretan “myzithra” cheese and gruyere, smoked pork (“apaki”), sun dried tomatoes, olives and olive paste. Virgin olive oil from the 300 olive trees of the hotel, fresh vegetables and fruits from the garden are also offered. Specials include handmade cream-filled “bougatsa” pie of Chania, “ryzogalo” (rice pudding), “loukoumades” (honey dumplings), “lychnarakia” and “kaltsounakia” (made with “myzithra” cheese and honey) and spoon sweets. Breakfast is complete with strained yoghurt, jams, thyme honey with walnuts, dried nuts and dried fruits together with tea and “malotira”, a herbal beverage from Psiloritis Mountain.
