The breakfast buffet features elements of the authentic traditional Cretan cuisine in the special “Cretan Corner”. All dishes are made with fresh, local ingredients. In particular, there are dairy products such as “anthotyro” and “myzithra”” cheese, gruyere and feta in virgin olive oil, barley rusks and “dakos” rusks with tomato and “myzithra”. Guests will find spoon sweets (quince, bitter orange, orange, fig) as well as local traditional sweets, namely “stafidopana” (with raisins), “kalitsounia” (with sweet cheese) and “kserotigana” (fritters with honey). Thyme honey and carob honey are integral parts of the local Cretan cuisine. Guests can also try the local sheep’s yoghurt, the traditional “ryzogalo” (rice pudding), the “sfouggato” omelet with local eggs combined with fresh vegetables and green olives.
