The Flavors of Pieria and Ktima Bellou

In the heart of Central Macedonia, Pieria is a place where mountain and sea coexist in harmony, creating a unique microclimate that favors the production of high-quality agricultural products. From the vineyards of Kolindros and the chestnuts of Elatochori, to the aromatic plants of Mount Olympus and the fresh fruits of the plain, the region stands out for its distinct gastronomic identity. Local producers, with respect for the land and tradition, create products that embody the authentic character of Macedonian nature.

Within this fertile environment, in Agios Dimitrios of Pieria, lies Ktima Bellou, a member of the “Greek Breakfast” program. Ktima Bellou is a model organic and agritourism farm that includes a small hotel with 12 rooms and residences, blending tradition with modern ecological awareness. The Bellou family cultivates the land using natural methods, without chemicals, on an area of about 70 acres at the foothills of Mount Olympus.

The estate’s products reflect the quality and richness of Pieria’s land:

  • Handmade jams and spoon sweets, prepared from the estate’s seasonal fruits.

  • Liqueurs and mountain herbs, capturing the aromas of Olympus.

  • Honey, eggs, and fresh vegetables from small-scale organic production.

At the restaurant of Ktima Bellou, these flavors are transformed into dishes and recipes of the Greek Breakfast, offering an authentic farm-to-table experience to all who visit.

Ktima Bellou is not just a place of hospitality but a living ambassador of the land of Pieria. A space where authenticity, nature, and Greek gastronomic tradition come together ideally—an experience that truly deserves a place in the “Greek Breakfast.”
