The breakfast at the Skamnos includes many types of bread, such as village style from the local bakery and brown bread, baked by the hotel owners with organic multi grain flour and dried nuts. Guests will find lemon or chocolate cake, savory cheese pies, and mini cream-filled “bougatsa” pies. The jams are homemade (strawberry, cherry, apple-pear, apricot, raspberry, beetroot, tomato-olive, spicy carrot). There are also homemade crepes or waffles, either sweet (with jam or honey from Parnassos), or savory (with ham, local cheese, tomato and olive paste). Guests can pair their yoghurt with spoon sweets, dried or fresh fruits and nuts. Hot dishes include homemade cheese pies, spinach pies, “trahanas” pasta soup, omelettes, saut?ed eggs, boiled eggs, sausages. There is traditional “ryzogalo” (rice pudding), various kinds of coffee, tea and particularly local mountain tea, milk, hot chocolate and “ksirotigana” (fritters with honey). Many of the ingredients are produced in the region of Parnassos.

The breakfast at Somewhere Boutique Hotel has a strong Greek and Mediterranean emphasis. There is a selection of breads made with traditional ingredients, a handmade cheese pie with village style phyllo dough and Greek cheeses, cold cuts from Greek farms, and dairy produce such as “manouri” cheese from Larisa, “kasseri” from Vermio, feta from Lesvos, and gruyere from Crete. Guests will also find organic eggs cooked in various ways, cereals such as oats and cracked wheat, Greek honey, tahini (sesame spread) and spoon sweets. Seasonal fruits, homemade jams, olives and olive oil from Kalamata are some of the traditional local choices. Greek herbal teas and traditional “Loumidis” Greek coffee will conclude a nice rich breakfast.

A rich Greek breakfast buffet featuring many local products is served daily at the hotel. It starts with various types of fresh bread from the neighborhood bakery, paired with a selection of homemade jams and traditional honey. The excellent quality goat’s and sheep’s milk is produced by local cattle breeders. The cheese platter includes gruyere, spicy “kefalograviera”, feta, “katiki”, and there is always goat’s butter and sheep’s yoghurt. As for cold cuts, they are all local, since the people of Evritania produce and process top quality meat. Highly recommended are the village style handmade pies (pie with wild greens, cheese pie and various other pies, sweet or savory). There are also free range eggs (boiled, fried, omelet) that guests can enjoy with freshly cut tomatoes and cucumber from the neighborhood greengrocer who also supplies the fresh fruit. There is freshly squeezed orange juice, cakes, various cookies. The aroma of coffee and various herbal teas, such as mountain tea, chamomile, mint, sage and linden make the guests feel closer to nature. Beverages are paired with walnut spoon sweet, a hotel specialty.

The breakfast at the Semiramis is served a la carte and it is inviting and imaginative. Among the various delicacies served, there is a vast selection of Greek dishes made with fresh local ingredients.

The bread basket contains many types of breads and sesame ring bun (koulouri). There is also organic olive oil with olives, cherry tomatoes, Cretan rusks, cake and biscuits as well as sweet custard pie with “bougatsa” phyllo pastry. Guests should try the homemade spinach pie, and various cold cuts and cheeses like “kasseri” from Mytilene, gruyere from Crete, blue cheese and “manouri”. A traditional delicacy is pastry rolls (“flogeres” with manouri cheese, honey and sesame,) as well as the option of cereals and mixed dried fruit and nuts. Also, many types of jams, organic honey and sesame “tahini” spread, yoghurt with fruit and other toppings are offered. For those who prefer a healthy option, there is a rich fruit juice bar. Eggs can be cooked in various ways with smoked ham or salmon, omelettes with saut?ed potatoes, baked vegetables, bacon and Cretan sausages. There is a wide selection of coffees, tea, chamomile and chocolate beverages.

The Greek breakfast puts emphasis on the products of Evia and is served in the veranda overlooking the Gulf of Evia. The buffet offers juice and hot beverages as well as several types of baguettes, wholewheat bread sticks and rusks from local bakeries, fruits and homemade jams. Desserts include chocolate pie, traditional “diples” (fritters), tahini halva, cake, spoon sweets, honey from Taygetos and “ryzogalo” (rice pudding). Hot dishes like cheese pie with feta from Zaraka, zucchini pie, spinach pie, traditional omelet (with pepper, tomato and onions) are recommended. Guests may also try cheeses such as feta, “kasseri” and “anthotyro”, yoghurt as well as salads with homegrown olives.

The Greek breakfast features dishes made with traditional local ingredients. For starters there is fresh juice and herbal teas like verbena, sage, mint and “thrubi” from the mountains of Northern Evia. Greek coffee is traditionally brewed. There is also a variety of cakes, local bread and fresh butter and homemade jams. The local pies include “kourkouto” (with flour, fresh milk, eggs, oil and cheese or mint and fresh zucchinis), handmade “bourekia” (with homemade phyllo filled with spinach and wild greens, fresh cheese and eggs). The village eggs are paired with a selection of olives. Desserts feature “loukoumades” (honey dumplings) and “tiganites” (pancakes) with honey. Depending on the season, the buffet varies. During Lent, there is tahini halva, “lagana” bread, special cakes and “melomakarona” (traditional Christmas sweets). In the summer, guests will find pies with ingredients from the vegetable gardens, fresh tomatoes and zucchinis as well as seasonal fruits.

A la carte choices include eggs cooked in various ways such as “kagiana” with tomato and “feta”, and traditional “tiganites” (Greek pancakes).

The quaint restaurant at Plaka Hotel offers a rich breakfast to start your day before exploring Athens.
