The breakfast buffet is based on traditional local products, starting with fresh bread, fresh eggs, (boiled or fried), various kinds of cold cuts, homemade jams, traditional olive oil rusks, Kalamata “lalaggia” (local recipe), various cakes, local spoon sweets, “dakos” rusks with tomato, feta from Kalamata and olive oil. There are also village style sausages with orange, Kalamata olives from the hotel olive grove, “strapatsada” (scrambled eggs and tomato), fresh fruits and local “pasteli” (honey and sesame bar) with local honey. Other desserts like the local “loukoumi” treat, the homemade “tiganites” (pancakes with honey), or “loukoumades” (honey dumplings) and dried fruits will go perfectly with a cup of traditional Greek coffee.

The Paradise Lost’s breakfast buffet includes a wide selection of traditional dishes. There are four different types of bread (white, whole wheat, village style, toast), bread sticks, cold cuts, and dairy products such as yellow cheese, feta, yoghurt and butter. Guests will find two kinds of jam, honey, tahini, vegetables olives and olive oil from local producers, fresh fruits and compote. The breakfast buffet also offers fresh boiled and fried eggs, omelet, handmade pizzas and pies, handmade cakes and sweets, beverages such as coffee, milk, tea, and two kinds of juices.

The breakfast at Pantelidis hotel serves a wide selection of traditional Greek dishes. Bread is served with local honey, feta cheese from Klisoura and local yoghurt. There is a variety of homemade jams with fruits of the region such as Velvedou peaches, apples from Milochori and plums from the hotel’s orchard. Seasonal vegetables and fruits are served daily. Try the eggs “kagianas”-style with tomato and feta cheese or the hot soups during the winter, or the “piroshki”, a delicacy from Pontos with dough filled with potato or cheese. For dessert there is bougatsa” (custard pie with phyllo), fruit cake, apple pie with apples from Milochori, “ryzogalo” (rice pudding), semolina pudding (halva) with dried nuts, milk pie, “loukoumia giaglidika” with cinnamon, sugar and raisins, and “laggites” from Thrace, with honey or sugar and cinnamon.

A Greek buffet style breakfast with local delicacies includes fresh bread from the local bakery, fruits and vegetables from the garden and local olives. Greek strained yoghurt, local eggs and the famous cheese pie of Skopelos are also served. The local honey and homemade jams, made with fruits from the garden, are highly recommended.

There is village style bread, fruits, local strained yoghurt and honey, sun dried tomatoes, cake, “trahanas” (traditional pasta) soup and pies, such as spinach pie and cheese pie. Eggs are cooked in various styles like Greek-style fried eggs with tomato, feta, olive and oregano. There are cold cuts and cheeses such as “kefalotyri” and “feta” from local producers. Guests will also find “tiganites” (pancakes) with honey and cinnamon and home made jams. As for vegetables, there is tomato and cucumber. Finally, for a perfect ending, there is “ryzogalo” (rice pudding), juices, tea and herbal infusions, fresh milk and Greek coffee.

Breakfast is served in an outdoor restaurant with panoramic views of the Bay of Chania. The buffet features a wide selection of local and traditional products presenting guests with a full picture of the Cretan products. The Cretan corner includes among other things local, fresh cheeses such as “anthotyro” and “myzithra”, fried eggs with “staka” (traditional butter), a variety of olives, aromatic virgin olive oil, mini “dakos” rusks, local beverages, dried nuts, sheep’s yoghurt etc.

The Panorama hotel offers a wide selection of Greek traditional dishes on its breakfast buffet. There are many types of fresh bread, sesame “koulouri” bun, cakes and cookies. Eggs are cooked in various styles, paired with cold cuts and dairy products such as feta and “manouri” cheese, strained yoghurt, butter and fresh milk. Guests may also taste Macedonian (tahini) halva, olives, olive oil, tomatoes, mushrooms and smoked salmon. Handmade pies are prepared every day, as well as hot “trahanas” soup (with traditional pebble-sized pasta) and homemade traditional sweets such as walnut pie and “revani” (semolina cake with syrup), which are made with fresh ingredients only. There are also fresh fruits, honey, jam, dried fruits and fresh juices, as well as Greek coffee.

Palmyra Beach Hotel offers a breakfast with plenty of local, traditional delicacies. Breakfast starts with a wide selection of breads. There is also Greek virgin olive oil and vinegar to go with the Cretan cucumbers, tomatoes, and olives from Kalamata. Guests will taste strained yoghurt with Greek honey, a selection of fresh fruit and fruit salad, and various jams from Macedonia. Feta cheese is from the island of Lesvos and the ‘anthotyro’ cheese is from Amphilohia. There is also homemade mini spinach pie, a selection of cold cuts, and eggs (boiled, fried eggs or “strapatsada” (scrambled eggs with tomato). Greek coffee is accompanied by a selection of juices and herbal teas from Crete, such as chamomile and mountain tea. For dessert, there is mini custard-filled “bougatsa” pies with cinnamon and sugar and homemade semolina pudding (halva) with orange zest.

Dairy products feature milk, buttermilk, excellent cheeses and top quality Greek yoghurt accompanied by dried and fresh fruits, jams, honey, dried nuts and various spoon sweets. Local products offered are “louza,” (smoked pork) ‘kopanisti” (soft cheese with a spicy, peppery flavor), “ksynotyri”, rusks and “amygdalota” (almond shortbreads). Greek products include cold cuts, sun dried tomatoes, olive oil and a selection of olives. Omelettes and other hot dishes served are village style pies with wild greens, spinach, leeks, feta cheese and minced meat. An all time favourite, the Greek salad, is also served. Desserts include syrupy sweets with phyllo such as “kataifi”, baklava and “galaktoboureko”, walnut pie, chocolate pie and orange pie, yoghurt pie, “loukoumades” (honey dumplings) and “ryzogalo” (rice pudding). Drinks and beverages comprise freshly squeezed juices (lemon, orange, grapefruit and sour cherry), a selection of teas and top quality freshly ground coffee.

On cold, winter days, guests may enjoy their breakfast by the fireplace, which is freshly prepared the moment they sit down at the restaurant of Palea Poli, which is located on the ground floor of the guesthouse. There is a choice of handmade delicious jams, made with fresh fruits, such as strawberries, apples, oranges and plums, a rich “ryzogalo” (rice pudding), homemade pies, fluffy apple pie, freshly squeezed juices and steaming coffee. Guests will also try hot bread, traditional “trahanas” (handmade pasta), local cheeses and cold cuts, sweet crepes and fresh eggs cooked to order. On sunny days and summer mornings guests can enjoy their breakfast in the shade of the courtyard, which is filled with flowers.
