Apart from traditional spoon sweets, there are various Greek sweets in syrup and some international ones with a Greek twist like cheesecake with “anthotyro” soft cheese and tiramisu with “katiki” cheese from Domokos, Greek “mosaiko” with chocolate and handmade biscuits and homemade “ryzogalo” (rice pudding) orange zest.

The Greek breakfast buffet at the Alexandra Hotel is served at the hotel restaurant, overlooking the blue Aegean sea. There is feta, “ksinomyzithra” cheese and olives from Crete, paired with local vegetables, “kalitsounia” and traditional cheese pie. Recommended are the Cretan honey, traditional yoghurt, local rusks (“dakos”), village style omelet (with tomato, “apaki” (smoked pork) and feta, or with zucchini and potatoes.) There are also cold cuts, fresh fruits, juices, eggs, compotes, yoghurt with fruit, jams etc. Two traditional hot dishes are served every day: omelet and cheese pie or pie with wild greens. There is a special corner with various olive oils from Crete. Finally, guests may learn how to make a traditional “dakos” rusk using a guide with photographs and instructions.

At the Akti Retzika, breakfast is served in the garden overlooking the sea. Offerings are based on the freshest local produce and include fresh bread and Thessaloniki sesame ring bun “koulouri” from the village bakery, accompanied by Greek honey and jams. There are also fresh free range eggs, yoghurt and Greek salad with cherry tomatoes, feta from Chalkidiki, olives and extra virgin Greek olive oil. Guests may also taste fresh fruits from local producers and fruit juice. Finally, guests may be interested to ask for the secrets of making a cereal bar with peanuts from Aegina, delicious “trahana” (traditional pebble-sized pasta) or “ryzogalo” (rice pudding) flavored with mastic from Chios, which are served as well for breakfast.
