The rich breakfast buffet gives emphasis to Rhodian products and authentic local recipes.
Bakery products include “ladokouloura” made from yeast with herbs, “lazarous”, a unique bread with raisins, figs and dried nuts, the well known “fanouropita” cake and cookies like “anevata”, “zacharenia”, among others. Milk and local yoghurt are paired with spoon sweets or the famous Rhodian thyme honey. Some famous local sweets are “Mantinades” from Lindos, “takakia”, “marmarites”, “moschopoughia”, “kserotigana”, and the “Katimeria”, in countless variations with honey, cheese, olive oil etc. Worth mentioning are the “Poughia” or “Poughies” -pies made with various wild greens, with just salt and spicy peppers, then wrapped in phyllo and baked in a traditional “Klivani” oven. An old local recipe is “Vilanoviatiki Krommyder”, made with lots of onions and eggs. Eggs can also be scrambled with tomato “Kagianas” style or beaten with zucchini, in an omelet known as “Sfouggato.” Another unique local dish is “matsogalo” which resembles rice pudding but instead of rice it is made with “matsa” pasta. The traditional “melekouni” from Rhodes, made with honey, sesame and almonds. is the perfect ending to this Greek breakfast.

The Greek breakfast at the Elysion Hotel is based on local traditional products and recipes. Fresh bread is baked in a traditional oven, paired with feta and “myzithra” cheeses. There are cereals, honey and jams made by the Women’s Cooperative of Agiasos as well as cheese pies with local cheese. The dairies buffet includes “ladotyri” cheese and gruyere from Mytilini, local goat’s yoghurt, sheep’s butter from Chydira and eggs from a local poultry farm. Vegetarians will appreciate the Greek salad and fresh fruits. Traditional sweets of the day include “diples” (fried pancakes with honey and walnuts), “loukoumades” (honey dumplings) and syrupy “kadaifi” with phyllo and nuts. There are also various cakes, “tsoureki” (sweet bread), walnut pie and almond pie. The selection of savory pies includes cheese pie, spinach pie, chicken pie etc. The beverage selection has Greek milk, coffee and tea.

El Sol Hotel offers a rich buffet with fresh Greek ingredients. A selection of breads from the local bakery, local oil rusks and whole wheat rusks, butter and chocolate croissants, mini cheese pies, orange and cinnamon handmade cakes are available to guests. Traditional “diples” (fried dumplings with honey), “anthotyro” cheese with honey and sausage pies are among the stars of the buffet table. Fresh fruit, orange juice, yoghurt from Sparta and homemade jams, boiled eggs or omelet, cold cuts, cheese, olives, olive oil, freshly cut tomato, local oregano and salt are some of the best loved Mediterranean flavours that any visitor will appreciate. A selection of hot and cold beverages is also offered to guests.

At the Elounda Mare the breakfast buffet features a Cretan corner, with traditional “dakos” rusk, “myzithropitakia” (small pies with myzithra cheese) and “kaltsounia lychnarakia”, as well as olives, tomatoes and cheeses, rusks and barley buns. There are also cold cuts, cheeses, salted and smoked fish, pickles and cheese from the rest of Greece. A bakery section offers bread and bakery products, biscuits and cookies. The fruits and juices occupy another section, and the same applies to the dairy produce section, which features yoghurts of Lasithi, traditional “ryzogalo” (rice pudding) and fresh Greek milk.

The Greek buffet is a great hit with guests, who show their preference for delicacies like the traditional halva from Elounda, “tiganites” (pancakes), “kalitsounia”, “kefalotyri” cheese, eggs with “myzithra” cheese, cream-filled “bougatsa”, walnut pie, “kserotigana” (fritters), local thyme honey and the famous “rakomelo” drink.

The breakfast buffet at the guesthouse serves traditional bread, vanilla or cinnamon cookies, breadsticks, Cretan oil rusks and village style toasted bread slices, jams, local honey, and homemade spoon sweets. There is also peach compote, apples, chestnuts, cherries and other fruits (when in season), orange juice, tomatoes, “kaseri” cheese from Elassona, gruyere from Crete, traditional feta and yoghurt, full milk and pure butter. Also available are omelettes, eggs (boiled, fried, poached or scrambled) “strapatsada” (scrambled eggs with tomato), paired with cold cuts. Guests can try various pies such as traditional cheese pie or cheese bread, semolina pudding (halva) or tahini halva, various teas and coffees, herbal beverages (mountain tea mint, tilia, chamomile and sage.

The Elite City Resort serves a rich breakfast with international dishes but also features a corner showcasing the products and recipes of Messinia. Herbal teas, like sage and tea of Taygetos, various coffees (including traditional Greek) and freshly squeezed orange juice, are offered to guests as a greeting. There is also fresh bread, local cheese, such as feta, gruyere, “sfela”, anthotyro and yoghurt. Guests can also taste salted pork from Kalamata, “lalaggia” (traditional sweet of the region), cookies from Mani, oil and barley rusks with freshly grated tomatoes. There is virgin olive oil, olives of Kalamata and dried figs flavored with oregano. Hot dishes include “tiganopsoma” (fritters with cheese) and sausages with orange from Mani. Desserts include fresh Kalamata pasteli made with 100% honey, walnuts and blackcurrants, homemade cookies, homemade jams, honey from Taygetos, apple pie and “loukoumades” (dumplings with honey and grated walnut.)

The Greek Breakfast at the Elimnion Resort includes various bread products, honey and handmade jams, olives and olive paste, handmade spoon sweets, “loukoumades” (honey dumplings), “tsoureki” (sweet bread), handmade biscuits, yoghurt, “feta”, gruyere and “anthotyro” cheese. Guests should try “tyropitari” (pie with cheese), eggs from the village, dairy cream, “pasteli” (sesame and honey bar), mountain tea, figs and fruits. Guests will also find butter, a selection of cereals, organic products, handmade cakes, cold cuts, various baked products and many more delicacies.

The buffet style breakfast at the Elia includes fresh local products such as “myzithra” cheese, “dakos” rusks, homemade cakes, jams and pies, as well as a selection of fresh fruits from the garden and from local farms and groves. Guests can enjoy their breakfast either at the stunning veranda overlooking the sea view or in the verdant gardens. Breakfast is available anytime upon the guests’ request.

Bread, jams and spoon sweets complement the buffet. “Loukoumi” treats, traditional “diples” (fritters), “moustalevria” (grape must pudding), “melomakarona” and “kourabiedes” (traditional Christmas sweets), milk pies and orange pies, have their place on the breakfast buffet depending on the season.
